Okoumé Capital will invest 1 billion francs in 6 Gabonese SMEs

DIG/ The Okoumé Capital Fund, dedicated to financing and supporting SMEs, announced on May 23, 2023 that it will invest more than 1 billion FCFA to support the growth and sustainability of 6 Gabonese companies operating in the agriculture, mining, construction, forest-wood and health sectors.

This global amount of investment from the subsidiary of the Gabonese Strategic Investment Fund (FGIS) comes at the end of its series of support programs for SMEs, VSEs and Startups carried out during the year 2022.

Through this investment in the form of a stake, Okoumé Capital is supporting “its confidence in Gabonese SMEs”.

In effect, this equity investment for a period of 5 to 10 years gives it the status of minority shareholder, and is also accompanied by a strategic component: operational advice, intangible resources and networking.

« This support aims to strengthen their financial solidity, clarify their governance, promote their internationalization and enhance their contribution to the creation of wealth and employment. », said the Fund.

It should be noted that in 2022, the companies benefiting from this capital investment, realized cumulative turnover of 2.4 billion francs.
