SAO PAULO (Reuters) – Mateus Scherer will be the new CFO of StoneCo (NASDAQ:) starting July 1, the payments company said on Friday in a statement.
Scherer has been with the company since 2015 and served as vice president of finance. He will replace Silvio Morais, who occupied the interim financial department.
StoneCo also announced the retirement of president Augusto Lins from his full responsibilities, and he will become a senior consultant for the company. StoneCo is one of the companies that separates the position of CEO, currently occupied by Pedro Zinner, from the position of president.
StoneCo has not announced a new president. Questioned by Reuters, the company said that “there will be no one taking the position that Augusto had”.
Lins will also leave on July 1st.
