Of course, as the title suggests, we’re referring to the upcoming League of Legends World Championship. LoL Worlds, in short, is what represents the competitive sphere of League of Legends at an international level.
It is the only truly international event that captivates millions of fans around the world. Of course, the Mid-Season Invitationals are also international, but they serve to introduce the world championships. This year, the action is scheduled to start on October 10 and will last for more than a month. The grand finale is scheduled for November 19, so make sure you don’t miss it!
As for the details, we don’t know much yet. All we know is that the event will take place at various locations in Seoul and Busan. R6 Gamers8 2023

Rainbow Six is known for having a rich esports ecosystem spearheaded by a major tournament each year. However, this year it will not be just one, but two massive tournaments. As usual, the Six Invitational was quite a show. In July, Riyadh Boulevard will be the site of choice for a $2 million R6 event.
Gamers8 is the name of said event and it is sponsored by the Ministry of Sports of Saudi Arabia. The action begins on July 13 and the event will feature only 8 teams, but with an unmatched level of competitiveness. The biggest R6 teams have been invited, including G2, Oxygen, Falcons and w7m. The other four teams represent their respective regions. They are: Team BDS, M89, NiP and CYCLOPS.
The tournament will take place in two stages. The group stage will take place over the first two days and the playoffs are scheduled for the weekend (July 15-16). If you’re interested in Rainbow Six’s tactical brilliance, be sure not to miss this event!
What does 2024 hold for us?
When talking about the current state of the esports industry, one thing is for sure: esports is back! The industry went through a shocking period during the pandemic. At first, it was the only competitive environment to survive the days of social distancing measures. When the world of sports came to a standstill, esports held its own thanks to its online attribute.
However, now that we are going through a global economic crisis, the industry that emerged unscathed from the pandemic is suddenly on its knees. Some of the largest corporations posted significant losses and several high-end games had to cut their prize pools and operating costs.
However, it didn’t take too long for the average esports fan to get used to the new normal. The cuts are obvious, but they haven’t jeopardized the very existence of our favorite esports. The biggest titles are still going strong, albeit at a slightly slower (barely noticeable) rate.
Considering the trends in the first half of 2023, we can safely assume that the esports industry will have an even better year. Valorant, CSGO, Dota 2, and League of Legends continue to lead the way. But there are a host of challengers ready to take his place.
