The Institute of Security and Social Services of State Workers (Issste) plans to leave a budget programmed for 10 construction projects for new hospitals in the same number of states. This was announced by the general director, Pedro Zenteno Santaella, during his work tour of medical units.
This guarantees the continuity of the projects, since, since they are labeled, they cannot be used for anything else, he explained when talking with medical and nursing staff and beneficiaries of the Clínica Hospital (CH) in Manzanillo, the Family Medicine Unit (UMF) in Tecomán, the Family Care Clinic (CAF) in Armería and the Child Well-being and Development Stay (EBDI) 122.
Colima may be one of the states where it is possible to build a general hospital with 150 census beds, since the Hospital Clinic “Dr. Miguel Trejo Ochoa” It is over 50 years old, it is completely exceeded, it covers 62,733 beneficiaries and its facilities have not grown at the same rate. “What is the solution? A second-level ISSSTE hospital in the entity, ”she stated.

New ISSSTE hospitals that are under construction
He highlighted that two regional hospitals with 250 census beds are under construction, one in Coahuila and another in Jalisco; a general one with 150 beds in Tamaulipas and two hospital-clinics with 20, one in Baja California Sur and another in Chiapas, in addition to the one that is about to begin construction in Guerrero.
Expansions and adaptations are also carried out, as well as comprehensive maintenance and equipment of the institute’s medical units at the three levels of care.
Colima received 879 pieces of medical equipment, among which are: CT scanners, mammographs, dental units, X-ray equipment, six ambulances and furniture, for the benefit of 87,310 beneficiaries.

At UMF Tecomán, after a year and a half of not having a dental service, the new dental unit was installed and comprehensive maintenance work was carried out, including air conditioning in the offices; likewise, its extension is projected.
At CH Manzanillo the air conditioning was changed, two transfer ambulances and one advanced emergency ambulance arrived here; portable X-ray equipment and an ultrasound; A radiological unit is about to arrive and the dental module will be replaced by a new one. Everything, for the benefit of 15 thousand 718 beneficiaries. By instruction of the general director of ISSSTE, a medical grade compressor will be acquired for the operation of a respiratory ventilator in the emergency area.
As the last point of the work tour of Colima, Pedro Zenteno visited the EBDI 122 of Manzanillo, which provides service to 113 infants. He commented that children are a priority for the institute, for this reason a group of people will be sent to provide general maintenance to its facilities.
