The second section of the Provincial Court of A Coruña will hold on the 31st the trial against a couple from Melide (A Coruña) accused of requesting loans using data from other people without their consent or knowledge, according to the tax qualification document.

For some events that date back to the period between December 2013 and October 2016, the Prosecutor’s Office requests two years and nine months in prison for each of the members of the couple, in addition to the returns of the amounts allegedly defrauded.

To apply for loans to companies that grant microcredits, they used, explains the Prosecutor’s Office, authentic identity cards that they photographed without the owner knowing, most of which were obtained by the defendant at her job at the Melide employment office and from people who came to carry out procedures.

Once they had the photographs of the DNI, the couple prepared a fictitious list stating the data of said document and from their home in Melide they applied for the loan online, filling out a form hosted on the lender’s website.

“And they obtained, if it was approved, the deposit of the nominal in bank accounts of their ownership designated by them,” says the Prosecutor’s Office, adding that they managed to enter into their assets loans for an amount of 24,840 euros, with repayment, in some cases, of the defrauded amounts.

For this reason, the Prosecutor’s Office considers them perpetrators of a continued crime of using authentic documents by a person not entitled to do so with a continued crime of falsifying a commercial document and another of fraud.
