A 42-year-old man, living in Suresnes (Hauts-de-Seine), was arrested on the night of Saturday to Sunday May 28 around four in the morning in a swingers club located in the Pigalle district of Paris (18th).
According to our information, he was taken into custody for viol after being surprised by other customers of this night establishment. The latter intervened while the man was having sex with another client. According to these witnesses, this 23-year-old Parisian could not express her consent.
The alleged victim, who was apparently in an advanced state of intoxication, reportedly dozed off on a sofa in the swingers club. It was then that she would have been joined by this man. It is not known if they knew each other. This client would have put on a condom before taking action. But other customers, attending the scene, would have realized that the young Parisian continued to sleep during the sexual act. They then intervened and woke her up.
Suspect claims sex was consensual
The young woman then demanded an explanation from her alleged rapist. Dispatched by witnesses, a police crew went to the scene to arrest the suspect. The latter explained to the officials that the sexual intercourse was consensual. He was finally placed in police custody in the premises of the 2nd judicial police district (DPJ), seized of the investigation by the Paris prosecutor’s office.
Due to his state of health, the alleged victim was unable to file a complaint or even be heard.
