At least three people died and five others were injured in a shooting during a motorcycle race in the state of New Mexico, in the United States, local media reported.

The shooting occurred on Saturday around 5:00 p.m. (2300 GMT) in Red River, a small town near Taos, while 20,000 bikers participated in the concentration Annual Memorial Day Biker.

Red River Mayor Linda Calhoun confirmed the number of deaths and injuries in a video interview with local outlet Questa Del Rio News. She also specified that several suspects were arrested without indicating how many.
