A Girona court dismisses the lawsuit for the right to honor filed against a mayor of the Mossos

The Court of First Instance 5 of Girona has dismissed the claim for the right to honor filed by the person under investigation in an open proceeding for two homicides against a mayor of the Mossos d’Esquadra corps. The plaintiff considered that the person in charge of the Mossos d’Esquadra violated his right to honor and presumption of innocence when, on the day of his arrest and at a press conference before the media, he assumed that he was guilty of the crime. The sentence states that during the press conference the name of the detainee was never given or any other information that would allow him to be identified, and that all the expressions used by the police authority respected the presumption of innocence.
