For two hours this Monday noon, it was impossible to track his package or forward his mail. The laposte.fr website was down. “A technical incident” makes it unavailable, said La Poste in a welcome message. However, the company specified that the courier service was still available.
According Numerama, the origin of the incident is said to be a cyberattack by a group of activist hackers in Bangladesh, “Mysterious Team Bangladesh”. On Twitter, the FalconFeedsio account, which specializes in digital threats, also mentions a computer attack.
A “denial of service” attack, explains Numerama: it involves launching waves of simultaneous connections to a site, in order to saturate it. The target platform then shuts down, usually for a few hours.
The website DownDetector, which lists malfunctions of online services, recorded a jump in reports from 11:30 a.m. Around 1:30 p.m., the site was available again, according to BFM TV. Le Parisien also saw it a few minutes later. All postal services were accessible.
