The Central Asian Challenge Cup kicks off today (23) in Dhaka, Bangladesh with the participation of handball teams from Central Asian countries.

Sri Lankan men’s handball team and Sri Lankan women’s handball team are participating in this tournament.

The final of the series for both men and women will be played on the 28th.

Thilini Vasana has been appointed as the captain of the Sri Lanka women’s volleyball team and Lasithu Medmal as the captain of the Sri Lanka men’s volleyball team.

Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Uzbekistan, Nepal and Kyrgyzstan will play five teams in the women’s division while Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Uzbekistan, Nepal and Maldives will play five teams in the men’s division.

The Sri Lankan handball team will make its debut for the first time in 2 years due to the Corona threat.

Sri Lanka women’s volleyball team will face Nepal women’s volleyball team in their first match tomorrow.

Meanwhile, the Sri Lanka men’s handball team will face the Maldives men’s handball team in their first match.
