The PP manages to win in most census sections, exceeding a thousand

The municipal elections have left a general victory for the Popular Party in Galicia, with more than half a million votes and 38.4% of the vote (it had 33%). It managed to prevail in 191 municipalities, 56 by an absolute majority, but only one city: Ferrol. In the naval city it turned out to be the first force in all the census sections except one in Caranza, where the still mayor and socialist candidate, Ángel Mato, obtained 38.2% of the votes.
In the more than 2,000 census sections that divided Galicia this 28M, the PP won 1,137, while the PSOE did so in 669 and the BNG in 148. In fourth place, Ourense Democracy. Pérez Jócome’s party prevails in the vast majority of the city, with the exception of a group of streets in the center, with a popular victory. Alternativa dos Vecios wins in all census sections of pottersand Terra Galega does the same in Narn.
The vast majority of Abel Caballero in Vigo extends throughout the city, with the exception of two neighborhoods. The PP achieved its best result in two of the areas with the highest income level in the city: next to Canido beach, with almost half of the votes, and in Plaza de Compostela. The PSdeG obtained 418,000 votes in Galicia, more than 82,000 in the city of Oliva.
In The Corua, again it is the socialists who take over the largest portion of territory. The PP repeats in its bastions of the Ensanche and Linares Rivas, as it had already done in 2019. The BNG managed to be the force with the most votes in a block of the Barrio de Las Flores.
Santiago, one of the two cities where there will be a change of mayor -at the expense of what happens in Ourense-, the candidacy of the popular Borja Verea prevails in most sections, while the BNG of Goretti Sanmartn, future councilor, does so over all in those of the historic center. The socialist Sánchez Bugallo only retains two areas, in the area around San Lázaro and between the streets of Berlin and Londres, in Fontias.

The PP candidate in Lugo, Elena Candia, devastates by winning in all sections of the walled city, which resulted in a resounding victory that gave her twelve councilors, to one of the absolute majority. Pontevedra is divided between BNG and PP, a formation that ended up in the lead but far from reaching the majority that would allow it to govern.
