‘Ashwath’ built in 7000 sqft is situated near a big and old Peepal tree.. The house has also got its name from this tree. Delhi’s architectural company Archiopteryx has built it with age-old traditional techniques, which is sustainable and eco-friendly in every sense.
Now-a-days many people want to build a house that is close to nature. Generally, for this, they have to live away from the city in a hilly place or close to the forest, where the comforts may be few. But ‘Ashwath’, a sustainable house built in 7000 square feet, is built in the heart of the city and living here can enjoy nature to the fullest.
The shade of trees and the chirping of birds are common in this house, situated amidst simple houses in a common colony in the planned city of Noida with several sectors. Actually, Delhi’s architectural company Archiopteryx has built ‘Ashwath’ near a big tree of centuries-old Peepal. And this house got its name from this tree.
Here no distinction is made between humans and other living beings. Just like the people who live here, this house is also home to many birds. Thousands of birds come here day and night and therefore small covered shelters have been made for them in different corners on the roof of the house.
This house is an example of traditional technology and modern design
Ashwattha is made on the basis of age-old traditional techniques. Like earlier houses used to have skylights for better ventilation and natural light; Similarly, skylights and cut-outs have been made in this house too, through which ample natural light comes inside.
Apart from this, water conservation is also taken full care of here. The curved roof of the house helps in storing rain water and through the drip irrigation system installed here, this water is used to irrigate the plants. From the roof of Ashwattha to the water storage tank on the ground floor, a unique pipeline system has been built.
This pipe comes down along the stairs and looks like a handrail. That is, Ashwattha runs completely on the principle of ‘Collect-Irrigate-Store-Reuse’.
Totally eco-friendly Ashwattha
Recycled plastic and wood have been used to make the balcony and floor of this house. The walls are made of beautiful stones. Instead of concrete and steel, small stones, bricks and clay debris have been used to prepare the structure of the house; Due to which the temperature inside the house remains balanced in any season. That is, it is neither too hot nor too cold compared to the outside temperature. Despite being in the middle of the city, this house is very close to nature.
