Chennai: Chief Minister MK Stalin has ordered the formation of a six-member panel headed by retired Judge Adinathan on the early release of life-sentenced prisoners on probation.
On the eve of Grandfather Anna’s 113th birthday, Chief Minister Stalin ordered that the long-term imprisonment of prisoners be reduced in good faith and on humanitarian grounds.
In this context, Chief Minister MK Stalin has ordered the formation of a six-member panel headed by retired Judge Adinathan. It has been reported that a committee headed by Adinathan will make recommendations regarding pre-release.
Tamil Nadu jails will look into the release of lifers who have not been released after serving 10 or 20 years. It will also look into the release of adult inmates and mentally ill inmates.
