Oman says Kovid standards apply to businesses in the country

The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion has said that the precautionary measures taken by the authorities in the wake of the Kovid outbreak in Oman are applicable to all commercial enterprises. Fifty per cent of the people are allowed to enter the commercial and industrial establishments of the country.

Authorities said they would take legal action against those who violated the directives issued by various departments. Meanwhile, the Royal Oman Police has stepped up its investigation following a sharp rise in Kovid cases. In the days leading up to the Kovid cases, the Supreme Court had banned people from attending churches, halls and wedding and post-mortem ceremonies across the country.

The new variant Omicron has been confirmed in Oman by 17 people. According to the Oman Ministry of Health, the new variant has the potential to be widespread. The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism yesterday directed all hotel and tourist establishments in Oman to take precautionary measures to prevent the spread of Kovid.
