Mumbai: Former coach Ravi Shastri has finally reacted to the removal of Virat Kohli from the captaincy of the Indian ODI team. Ravi Shastri said that Virat Kohli has explained his part in the matter of changing the captaincy and now it is up to BCCI President Sourav Ganguly to say his part. Ravi Shastri told The Indian Express that Virat Kohli could have handled the matter a little better if he had communicated better.

Ganguly had earlier told Virat Kohli that he would be removed from the post of ODI captain and had spoken to him personally and asked him not to step down as T20 captain after the World Cup. But the controversy was sparked by Kohli completely rejecting Ganguly’s arguments at a news conference ahead of his departure for the tour of South Africa.
Kohli said the selection committee chairman had announced his removal from the post of ODI captain shortly after the selection committee meeting to select the Test team. Kohli has also publicly rejected Ganguly’s claim that he was asked not to step down as T20 captain after the World Cup.
Virat Kohli, who vacated the captaincy of the T20 team after the T20 World Cup, also lost his ODI captaincy ahead of the ODI series against South Africa.
