According to the National Coordinator of MCA-Benin II, Gabriel Degbegni, the Ancien Pont, Red Cross, Central Akpakpa and CIMBENIN substations aim to significantly increase the city’s electrical transformation capacity. from Cotonou. According to him, each of these substations is equipped with two latest-generation transformers, with a capacity of 2×31.5 MVA (Croix-Rouge and CIMBENIN) and 2×63 MVA for the Ancien Pont substation. , and 64 KV shielded equipment insulated with SF6 gas (Centrale Akpakpa). “The objective is to modernize the electricity distribution network in order to guarantee sustainable energy, by substantially reducing disturbances on the electricity network and improving access to electrical energy”, he said. , indicating that all the work carried out by MCA-Benin II and MCC will impact approximately 12 million Beninese over the next 20 years. Remember that these four substations are part of the achievements of the “Electricity Distribution” project, one of the four projects of the vast energy program financed on the one hand by the United States of America to the tune of 391 million dollars and on the other hand, by Benin to the tune of 31.6 million dollars.
