The Chinese Alibaba Group will embed the Tongyi Qianwen neural network in its applications. About it informed Bloomberg.

It is specified that the neural network will be integrated into the DingTalk messenger and the Tingwu meeting application. The very model of generative artificial intelligence (AI) called Tongyi Qianwen (“The Truth from a Thousand Questions”) Alibaba introduced in early April. The model can create travel itineraries, invitation letters, advice on choosing cosmetics, etc. It was planned that the neural network would initially be integrated into the DingTalk messenger, and then into the Tmall Genie voice assistant.

On April 11, the Cyberspace Administration of the People’s Republic of China (CAC) released draft measures to regulate generative AI services. The department noted that they will check AI-based services before issuing them a permit to work in the country, since the content they create must reflect the basic values of socialism, cannot call for undermining state power, overthrowing the socialist system, etc.

At the end of March, the danger of AI development was announced at the Future of Life Institute, whose petition was signed by entrepreneurs Elon Musk, Steve Wozniak and others. According to the Institute, the lack of control over laboratories for the production of neural networks can be dangerous for society and a pause for six months will allow AI laboratories and independent experts “to jointly develop and implement a set of common security protocols for advanced AI design and development.”

As Vedomosti wrote earlier, against the backdrop of the popularity of ChatGPT and Midjourney from August 2022 to February 2023, the number of users of neural networks increased by 5 times, and the duration of interaction with AI – by 3 times. The rise in popularity of GPT chats has sparked a debate on several fronts in the media and the internet. We are talking about both the change in the labor market due to digitalization, and the vulnerability of certain categories – for example, specialists associated with the accumulation and systematization of knowledge (scientists, lawyers), or representatives of creative professions.
