Le Prime Minister Dr Bernard Goumou, accompanied by the Minister Secretary General of the Presidency of the Republic of Guinea, Director of Cabinet at the Presidency of the Republic, the Minister of Technical Education, Vocational Training and Employment, and several members of the Government, laid the first stone of the Future Digital Village at the technical training center in the municipality of Ratoma on May 27, 2023.
In his communication, Dr. Bernard Goumou indicated that the new frontiers of human knowledge are linked to the mastery of new technologies developed in all sectors of life.
For him, the #digital village of Guinea will be much more than a simple construction “it is a vision in which we become a prosperous and competitive nation on the international scene” he says.
Continuing, the Head of Government recalled that Guinea is lagging behind in the development of this sector “we had to wait 26 years before being connected to the first submarine cable in June 2014. At the end of 2018 #Guinea was classified the penultimate African country for the quality of the internet… This is why the #CNRD and the Government are committed to reducing the digital bill by accelerating access to the national #backbone” he adds.
