Kakkanad. The long line of people who came to pay their last respects to PT Thomas proved that he was a man who kept his personal relationship intact even when he was criticizing his opponent through ideological struggle.
All those who had to hear the healthy criticisms of PT’s ideological path came to bid farewell to the colleague. A black badge with a photo of PT on it, including top leaders of the CPM, appeared in public. CPM councilors were actively involved in controlling the crowds and facilitating public viewing.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, who has publicly acknowledged PT’s parliamentary expertise despite criticisms raised inside and outside the Assembly, also came to see him off. Pinarayi returned after consoling PT’s wife Uma.

Sudhakaran, former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and Leader of the Opposition V.D. Satheesan, Ramesh Chennithala, VM Sudheeran, businessman MA Yousafali, MPs and MLAs paid their last respects at Kakkanad Community Hall.
