Three teenagers in rural upstate New York have been arrested for killing and eating a swan as a family that they mistaken for a large duck, according to local police.
This swan, a female named Faye and known in this region of Syracuse, was killed during the long weekend of “Memorial”, which celebrates veterans in the United States, announced the police of the town of Manlius, hundreds of miles north of New York City.
The three young people aged 16, 17 and 18 are implicated by the police for vandalism and theft. They are accused of having stolen Faye and her four young swans in order to make them pets, according to the account given to the local press on Tuesday by police sergeant Kenneth Hatter.
Confused with a very large duck
