Cellphone spare parts are manufactured and exported from the Foxconn factory operating in Kanchipuram district to 9 types of cell phone companies like Oppo, Redmi and Blackberry, iPhone. The Income Tax Department has been conducting inspections on Chinese mobile phone companies and other companies affiliated with Chinese companies for the past three days amid allegations of tax evasion.

More than 30 Income Tax officials raided the Foxconn factory and the factory of Chinese companies within it until midnight yesterday. The test took place simultaneously at Chinese companies in Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore, including Oppo’s head office in Nehru Nagar, Chennai.
Meanwhile, Income Tax officials also raided Kerry Logistics, a company owned by Xavier Britto, a cousin of Vijay and a master filmmaker who had been exporting and importing Chinese cell phone spare parts. With the completion of the inspection at his home, the Income Tax Department is conducting a 4th day of inspections at the offices in Rayapettai, Mandapam, owned by Xavier Brito.
