A pastor and his son were arrested after police discovered in an investigation that they were turning the church into a drug “spring”. The duo was growing marijuana at the temple, which had been closed since the pandemic lockdown period.

The Police reported that at the site, the pastor and his son were growing marijuana, packing the already dehydrated leaves, making wax with the hallucinogenic component of the herb, o THCand stockpiling with intent to trade.

Josh Price, 50, and his son, Matthew, 28, were arrested by North Carolina Police when they investigated them following a complaint that the pastor was using the temple to grow the drug.

According to information from the portal The Christian Posta team of investigators from the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division and the Division of Special Investigations searched the property and seized 5.5 kilograms of marijuana, 32 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, 41 THC capsules, 20 marijuana and about 1 kg of tetrahydrocannabinol wax (THC).

A former member of the South Side Baptist Church in Lexington, Mike Lambeth, told a local station he tried to warn members about the “pastor” but no one would listen: “This guy, I met him once, and our spirits don’t witnessed nothing. And I didn’t think he was a pastor, and he said to many of the members there, ‘You better watch out for him.’

A Christian neighbor at the church was so upset by the discovery that he said he hopes the pastor and his son will “burn in hell” for what they’ve done: “I really hope they burn in hell. I’m a Christian; this is very, very wrong. It’s wrong. It is wrong anywhere, but especially in the house of God.”

Leon Little, who also attended church pre-pandemic with his parents (who are now buried in the same lot), said he also tried to sound the alarm about Josh Price when he came to church: “They will have to come before God and answer for that one day, just as we all will have to answer for things,” he said.

Although Josh Price has told police that the church has been closed since the start of the pandemic, Little alleges that it was the pastor who decided to close the church after membership dwindled to five, including four members of Price’s family.

Little further explained that he and his family left the church several years ago when the congregation chose Josh Price over his father to lead them: “As soon as he took over the church, they started to see things. Yes, I’ve spoken to several members and they all feel the same way,” added the former member, who now wants the drug-dealing family off church property.

“I want my mum and dad to have a cemetery that isn’t drug related and for you to find out stuff like that it’s sad to know your parents are buried there. You have all these kinds of things going on behind the scenes.”
