Loroum (North): More than 400 candidates in the running for the BEPC 2023
Titao, (AIB)-The High Commissioner of Loroum Province, Djibril Bassolé officially launched on Thursday 1is June 2023 in Titao, the written tests of Undergraduate studies certificate (BEPC), session 2023.
The province of Loroum, which has two juries, registers 404 students, i.e. 154 boys and 239 girls, including 11 independent candidates.
One jury is based at the Lycée provincial du Loroum with 100 candidates and another at the Lycée polyvalent Yamwaya in Ouahigouya with 304 candidates.
“I am very moved by the commitment of all education stakeholders at the Loroum level. It’s been a year since we were able to organize this exam at the Loroum. It is therefore a challenge that we wanted to take up”, declared the high commissioner of the province of Loroum, Djibril Bassolé.
The president of the jury, Mathieu Zoundi, was delighted to have taken up the challenge of holding the exams in Titao.
“I say thank you to the authorities for having created the conditions for the students of Titao to be able to compose on the spot,” he said.
Fati Ganame, a candidate for the exam, said she was happy to compose even if she was not admitted.
“The fact of participating in the exam is already a victory because last year we could not register in view of the security situation,” she said.
In the jury housed at the Yamwaya multipurpose high school in Ouahigouya, candidates from the initiative to bring together internally displaced students from Ouahigouya were welcomed for the compositions of the 2023 session.
The provincial director of post-primary and secondary education of Loroum, Souleymane Ouermi praised the resilience of students and teachers.
He encouraged the students to give the best of themselves and praised all the education partners at Loroum for their support.
The province of Loroum is going through a difficult security situation marked by attacks by unidentified armed groups.
Recent initiatives by the army and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Fatherland have made it possible to open a center in Titao after a year of suspension.
