A girl sexually assaulted during a carousel ride

An 11-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted on Thursday at an amusement park.

The alleged incident took place at Adventure Island park in Southend, England.

Alarm bells were raised when the girl told members of her group that a man had touched her inappropriately while she was on the ride, The Sun reported.

The police were then alerted, who rushed to the scene to arrest the suspect, a 57-year-old man.

The man has been released on bail while Essex Police continue their investigation into the alleged incident.

Officers said the girl was receiving support from specialists.
