by time news

In one accident and two rear-end collisions on the East Styrian southern motorway (A2), four people were injured on Christmas Eve. A drunk driver (28) crashed into the guardrail, a woman driver (40) hit him. Both were injured. In the meantime a Pole had parked his truck train and wanted to help, a driver coming up (35) crashed into the truck standing on the hard shoulder. He and his passenger were injured.

The 28-year-old was on his way to Vienna at around 3:20 a.m., as the state police department announced on Friday. For unknown reasons, he hit the central rail and his car came to a standstill in the second lane. A car driver (40) overlooked the crashed car and crashed into it. Shortly afterwards, a 37-year-old truck driver wanted to help the two people. The Pole parked the truck on the hard shoulder. A coming from Graz (35) noticed the vehicles involved in the accident in the second lane too late, turned right onto the emergency lane and crashed into the stationary truck. The 35-year-old and his 32-year-old passenger from Graz were also injured.

All injured were brought to the LKH Hartberg by the Red Cross. The 28-year-old from the Hartberg-Fürstenfeld district was found to be heavily alcoholic during the test and his driver’s license was immediately taken away.
