National Police dismantles gang dedicated to illegal loans “drop by drop” | News

Continuing with their work against the “drop by drop” illegal loan mafias, agents of the Peruvian National Police (PNP) arrested seven members of the criminal gang “Los Gallegos del Este”, dedicated to this criminal modality and to extortion, in the district of San Juan de Lurigancho.

The detainees, of Venezuelan nationality, offered express credits to merchants, restaurant owners and motorcycle taxi drivers in the district, reported the head of the Green Squadron-Terna Group, Cnel. PNP Walter Palomino.

“They lend, spend four or five days and begin to charge high amounts of interest and extort. Those who do not pay are threatened. Some of his victims have been subjected to beatings and murder.”, warned the police chief and then called on the population not to access this type of loan.

According to preliminary investigations, the criminal gang had been operating in the district for three months and would also have a presence in other parts of the country.

Similarly, the head of the Green Squad-Grupo Terna reported that four of the members of this criminal group acknowledged that they know how to use firearms, since they did military service in their country of origin and one of them mentioned that he was in Argentina.

During the operation, five linear motorcycles, seven cell phones and 20 flyers with the description “easy loan, get easy and fast loans” were also seized. In addition, a black pistol-type firearm and four ammunition were confiscated.
