The dialogue between Roberto Saviano and the two-time Pulitzer Prize winner Joby Warrick

by Roberto Saviano / CorriereTv

The Syrian regime has unloaded its chemical arsenal on the civilian population of the country. There is evidence, says and writes reporter Joby Warrick, two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning author of The red line, out on 13 May for La nave di Teseo (which also re-proposes Black flags, on Isis, first published in 2016). Yet the Syrian regime – ten years after the war began – is still there, supported by powerful friends (especially Putin’s Russia) and Western sympathies. The dialogue between Saviano and Warrick opens the new issue of «la Lettura», # 493, in the App of the supplement from Saturday 7 May and on newsstands with the «Corriere della Sera» from Sunday 8. The incipit de The red line. The devastation of Syria and the race to destroy the most dangerous arsenal in the world (translation by Alberto Cristofori, La nave di Teseo, pp. 608, euro 22) is in the «Themes» section of the «la Lettura» App, which collects the digital-only extra daily insights.
