The three men suspected of having attacked the grand-nephew of Brigitte Macron, Jean-Baptiste Trogneux, on the sidelines of an undeclared demonstration against the pension reform, are to be tried on Monday June 5 in Amiens. Aged 20, 22 and 34, these defendants with marginal profiles were initially to be tried in immediate appearance on May 17, two days after the events, for violence in meetings, but their lawyers had asked for more time to prepare their defense.

They will therefore appear on Monday, in pre-trial detention, a placement justified by the president of the court because “the risk of repetition of the facts”. The public prosecutor of Amiens, Jean-Philippe Vicentini, had made the request, arguing that, “in a democracy, you have to talk, you can’t knock”. The trial is due to start at 2 p.m. in the criminal court.

Patron of the famous chocolate factory founded by the great-grandfather of Brigitte Macron, Jean-Baptiste Trogneux, 30, was molested on May 15 in front of his home, located above his business, in Amiens, by several people who participated in an undeclared demonstration, according to his father, Jean-Alexandre. From a police source, he received four days of total incapacity for work (ITT).

According to his lawyer, Franck Delahousse, he wanted “defend the window of his store, already targeted several times”. The chocolate factory has benefited from police surveillance at every demonstration in recent years.
