Banwa: The population supports the Transition with the sum of 3 million 500 F CFA
Solenzo (AIB)- Civil society organizations (CSOs) and youth groups from Solenzo in Banwa province, Boucle du Mouhoun region supported on Monday the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) with the sum of 3 million 500 CFA francs for the peace effort in Burkina Faso.
The liberation of the town of Solenzo, in the province of Banwa by the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) allowed the return of the population.
This is how the youth of Solenzo launched a voluntary contribution to support the fighting forces (FDS and VDP) and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).
Following this appeal, a sum of 2 million 500 thousand FCFA was collected from the population and 1 million FCA mobilized by civil society organizations (CSOs).
The presentation of the donation to the authorities to support the Burkinabè Transition took place this morning in Solenzo, capital of the province of Banwa.
The music in tribute to the FDS and to the president, Captain Ibrahim Traoré resounded from everywhere and the joy on the faces of the participants present at the ceremony.
It was at 9 a.m. that the prefect and president of the special delegation from Solenzo representing the high commissioner of the province arrived on the scene.
Accompanied by provincial officials and heads of service as well as representatives of the FDS and VDP, the prefect, representing the high commissioner, welcomed the strong mobilization of the population of Solenzo.
The CSO spokesperson asked for a minute of silence in memory of the victims of insecurity before launching his message to the authorities.
According to him, without the will of the President of Faso, the captain, Ibrahim Traoré and the determination of the FDS and the VDP, the city of Solenzo would never find a smile.
“The installation of military and police detachments, the trip of the president, Ibrahim Traoré followed by his speech at the end of the year 2022 marked us a lot. We are grateful and we salute the patriotism of our FDS and VDP,” he said.
According to him, the fighting forces (FDS and VDP) are seasoned, dynamic, courageous and determined patriots for the reconquest of Banwa province.
He called on the population to a frank collaboration, because according to him, they sacrifice their lives to ensure security night and day.
“Look at the faces of the populations are between hope and despair. Their blessings for you is to have the strength and the courage to defeat evil with great success,” continued the communal youth president of Solenzo.
He said that the people want to go back to their respective localities and trust the FDS and the VDP.
The people who support the Transition have listed seven grievances against the government.
To this end, the CSO spokesperson and the municipal youth president took stock of their grievances to the authorities.
These are, among others, the diligence of a special search mission in the Banwa province to facilitate the return of IDPs for field work, the acceleration of the asphalting works of the Koundougou -Solenzo-Dédougou and Sanaba- Nouna, the rehabilitation of electricity in the city of Solenzo and its extension in all the villages.
There is also the reopening of at least one service station in the town of Solenzo, of all schools and the construction of classrooms and the construction of a vocational training center for young people.
The CSO spokesperson also called on lost sons and daughters to lay down their arms and come home.
