Tan Son Nhat International Airport said that during the peak summer of 2023, Tan Son Nhat airport is expected to receive nearly 24 million passenger turn with over 150,000 flights.

According to the operation plan, in the peak summer period from June 2023 to August 2023, Tan Son Nhat International Airport is expected to have 150,555 flights, with about 23.9 million passengers.

Compared to 2022, the number flight exploiting in the summer this year increased by 6.64% and increased by 7.6% in the number of visitors.

A representative of Tan Son Nhat International Airport said that because the summer season lasts from June 1 to August 15, the number of passengers will be concentrated in both directions of departure and arrival. The service of the units at the airport must be maintained at a high and prolonged level.

The units will coordinate to deploy flight information at peak hours to regulate and allocate resources as well as enhance exchange and review of exploiting slots in accordance with the terminal capacity.

The airport also arranges union members and young people to support passengers in the security screening area, public lobby area. domestic railway station during peak hours (5am to 9am).

“When summer falls in the rainy season, the expected rate of delayed flights may be high, affecting passengers and terminals, causing overload in some moments. Therefore, the units are directed to develop a plan to prevent flooding, to have a plan to handle in case bad weather affects flight operations,” a representative of Tan Son Nhat International Airport shared.

Currently, the airport has also added a type of passenger transport under the contract of 10 seats, arranged parking locations to pick up passengers to avoid congestion; rearrange technology vehicles, taxis, contract cars, personal cars and buses to best serve mining activities, especially during peak periods; complete the roof of the pick-up area at the arrival terminal of the technology vehicle…

The port also continues to use temporary taxi buffers during the peak summer season and continues to experiment with the A-CDM model (coordinated decision-making at airports and airports).

Tan Son Nhat International Airport added that from June 2, the port has piloted the use of level 2 electronic identification accounts for passengers traveling by aircraft at check-in counters, check-in points. Check at departure gate and aviation security checkpoint for domestic passengers and hand baggage.

In the early days, passengers used a level 2 electronic identification account through airport security not much.

Due to the voluntary nature, when a passenger requests it, the security staff performs the check professionally and does not face any difficulty in the operation.
