Churches associated with a missionary organization are sending aid to victims of the flood caused by the destruction of a dam in Ukraine, in the city of Nova Kakhovka.

The dam, which retains water from the Dnipro River, was destroyed in an as-yet-unexplained attack. Both Russia and Ukraine blame each other for the destruction.

Amidst the chaos, the Slavic Gospel Association (SGA) is sending funds to the ukrainian churches help the homeless and thus demonstrate the Gospel in practice.

“Pictures are coming in of a whole house floating down the river, dogs swimming and cattle trying to stand on pieces of wood above the water. Really, from a human point of view, the cost of these people is unimaginable”, said Eric Mock, spokesman for the SGA, according to information from the portal. MNN Online.

“In the midst of this, the churches stand firm, so the Gospel will reach them. Pray for the Word of God to go forth. Pray that the peace of the Lord that passes all understanding is lining up in the hearts of many,” added Mock.

The Russian invasion of Ukraine has reached its 16th month, and information about the situation in the country indicates that 40% of Ukrainians need daily help to survive. There is a widespread sense of despair, said Alenka Stephenson of the Trans World Radio Europe (TWR) mission: “One of the greatest results of this terrible war is that the ministry has flourished in responses and interactions, especially online.”

“We have more than 100,000 subscribers from different platforms. With Facebook alone, we reach more than 2 million people,” said the missionary, adding that the TWR Ukraine team, based in the capital Kiev, produces Christian content that is broadcast live across the country.

“Volunteers make many trips to visit areas affected by the fighting. They interview people, talk to them and, of course, share the Good News. Recently they organized a family seminar where people who would not normally attend church were coming. Many of them have broken families. The men are at war, the wives and children sometimes go abroad or are displaced”, she contextualized.

The team of missionaries has been working non-stop for almost a year and a half, she revealed: “They are tired, not only physically but also emotionally”, she concluded, asking for prayers that God will sustain them in the midst of this situation.
