The government is continuing its fight against food inflation. The prices of “several hundred everyday consumer products” will drop “from July”, announced this Friday morning the Minister of the Economy Bruno Le Maire on RMC / BFMTV.
“From July, on a certain number of references and products, the prices will drop, we will check it and we will sanction those who do not play the game”, he assured.
Among the products concerned, Bruno Le Maire notably cited “pasta, sunflower oil, poultry, animal feed…”
Milk, pork or beef not affected
On the other hand, milk will not be concerned “otherwise, the producers would toast”. “Poultry must fall, because production prices have fallen”, but “on pork, on beef, it is different because production costs remain high”, also explained the minister.
He assures that he will have a “very precise” list of brands and products whose prices must drop and asks food companies to “return to the consumer” part of the price margins, threatening with sanctions those who do not. wouldn’t do.
