German international central defender Jérôme Boateng is leaving Lyon where he was at the end of his contract, the Lyon club, 7th in the last Ligue 1 championship, announced on Friday.
Aged 34, Boateng signed free at OL on September 1, 2021 from Bayern Munich where he played for ten years (2011-2021).
He played a total of 35 matches with Olympique Lyonnais in all competitions. But his recruitment, poorly studied and carried out in haste, was a failure like this season during which he only participated in eight Ligue 1 matches.
Selected 76 times with the Mannschaft, Boateng, world champion in 2014, also played at Hertha Berlin (2006-2007), Hamburg (2007-2010), Manchester City (2010-2011).
