Baghdad / Obelisk Al-Hadath: Today, Friday, Turkish warplanes and drones carried out air strikes targeting the villages of Sejri in Amadiyah in Dohuk Governorate, northern Iraq.

Earlier, Turkish intelligence announced the killing of a prominent leader of the PKK, and two of his companions, in a security operation carried out south of the city of Sulaymaniyah in northern Iraq.

Turkish intelligence stated that a group of them followed the movements of the leader of the PKK called Fahmi Ogmen, alias Sinan Degwar, and managed to kill him with two of his companions on the outskirts of the city of Chamchamal, south of Sulaymaniyah Governorate.

Turkish intelligence indicated that it had formed a local follow-up cell to monitor the movements of a number of PKK leaders in northern Iraq, and that this cell was the one that enabled the Executing Force to liquidate Ogmen by virtue of the information it provided.

Turkish intelligence stated that the two escorts who were killed along with Ogman were Muhammad Salih Jaqal, nicknamed “Mazloum Kojar,” the official of one of the armed brigades of the organization, and their driver called Ahmed Muhammad Ali, nicknamed “Ararat Tolheidan.”

Last week, Turkish warplanes carried out an aerial bombardment targeting sites believed to be belonging to the PKK militants, in the “Mateen” and “Kara” mountains, in the Amadiyah district in the Dohuk governorate in the Kurdistan region of Iraq.

Northern Iraq frequently witnesses Turkish targets with various types of weapons, and repeated violations of Iraqi sovereignty, amounting to tens of thousands, according to the Iraqi Foreign Ministry. It also witnesses a military presence distributed over dozens of points and military bases that include thousands of Turkish soldiers.
