Miter: the Diretas movement celebrates its 40th anniversary

He began his career in Minas Gerais, where he worked for several newspapers, such as “Correio de Minas” and “Diário de Minas”. In São Paulo, he was part of the team that created Jornal da Tarde, from the “Estado de S Paulo”. Ten years later, he became editor-in-chief, a post he later held on two other occasions. Afterwards, he took over the national direction of Journalism at Rede Bandeirantes, a position he still holds today. During this period, he produced more than 30 electoral debates, including the first presidential one in the country’s history on TV, in 1989. He is a political commentator for Jornal da Noite and an interviewer for the political program Canal Livre. Among the many awards he has received are the APCA Grand Prix, the Creation Club Grand Prize of SP and three Comunique-se awards for “best director of the year”, earning the title of “Master in Journalism”.
