Healthy children at risk of death: Parents beware !!

by time news

Hasitha Liyanarachchi, a pediatrician at the Seematti Children’s Hospital in Colombo, has called on parents to be vigilant as dengue is on the rise in the country.

He told a news conference at the Health Development Bureau yesterday (24) that dengue was dangerous enough to kill even healthy children.

He further commented,

“Currently, children are exposed to two diseases, cowpea and dengue. Covit infection is more likely to affect children who are infected with the virus and have a weakened immune system.

But dengue can also lead to the death of healthy children.

He therefore said that parents should act with utmost vigilance if their children develop symptoms including fever.
