A young man was attacked by several people in downtown Vienna on Saturday night. They stabbed him in the back before fleeing. A large contingent of forces from the Vienna police searched for the perpetrators, but the search has so far been unsuccessful. The man was taken to hospital with serious injuries, police said on Saturday.
The act was committed around 3 a.m. at the “Floating Gardens” on the Kaiserbadschleuse on the Danube Canal. There were no immediate witnesses. The victim received emergency medical care from the Vienna professional rescue service and was then taken to the hospital. There was no danger to life. The man was accessible but had no ID with him. His identity has yet to be established. He has not yet been questioned.
