WELLINGTON: New Zealand pacer Trent Boult has praised Rohit Sharma, who is set to make his debut as India’s permanent captain in limited-overs cricket. Bolt has been the star of the Mumbai Indians for the last two years, led by Rohit. This time, the Mumbai star was dropped ahead of the IPL mega star auction.

Bolt says Team India can shine under Rohit. “Rohit has experience. For Rohit to lead the Mumbai Indians to many achievements. Rohit knows how to handle stress easily. As a pace bowler who has played many matches with Rohit, I understand that. His experience in the IPL will also benefit him.

I enjoyed playing under Rohit in Mumbai Indians. I used to watch his captaincy tactics while fielding. We are very much looking forward to see how he leads the Indian team. Rohit is experienced. Under him, the Indian team is sure to do well, ”Bolt said.

Bolt made it clear that he had never played under Virat Kohli and therefore could not say anything more about him. But Bolt added that Kohli is a strong player.

He will next lead the team in the ODI series against South Africa in January. This is also a three-match series.
