After the rumors, here’s the official: Orkun Kokçu is Benfica’s new player, said the eagles in a statement sent to the Securities Market Commission (CMVM) this Saturday afternoon.
With a contract until June 30, 2028, the reds disbursed 25 million euros in cash, together with five million euros through objectives within a maximum period of five years.
“It is further informed that Feyenoord Rotterdam will also be entitled to receive a percentage of the value of a capital gain obtained in a future transfer of the said player, this percentage depending on the value for which this future transfer will be carried out”, the note also refers.
With a release clause set at 150 million euros, Orkun Kokçu thus becomes the first reinforcement for Roger Schmidt to prepare for next season, after a season in which Benfica won the Portugal Bwin League.
The Turkish midfielder arrives in Portugal with 175 games played, 32 goals and 26 assists at Feyenoord, where he arrived in the 2014/15 season from FC Groningen.
