3 British tourists missing after a boat burned in Egypt

Watan Al-Youm: The media advisor to the Egyptian Red Sea Governorate, Mohamed Makhlouf, revealed, in statements, the details of the fire that broke out in the “Lunch Safari” in Marsa Alam, as well as the death toll in the accident.
Makhlouf said that the accident occurred around nine o’clock on Sunday morning, off the coast of the city of Marsa Alam, and that the boat was carrying 15 English tourists, 10 crew members, in addition to 2 guides.
The media advisor for the Red Sea Governorate added that 12 English tourists, as well as the crew of the boat and guides, were rescued, and a search is underway for 3 missing Englishmen.
And he continued: “The burnt boat is called a hurricane, and it was on a safari from the 6th to the 11th of June in the Al-Fostoon region, 25 kilometers north of Marsa Alam.”
He pointed out that the rescue operations were carried out by another boat called “Blue”.
The authorities concerned with the maritime rescue are currently searching for the missing, and the Ambulance Authority and the Directorate of Health Affairs in the Red Sea have been notified to deal with any repercussions.
Regarding the cause of the accident, the spokesman says that initial indications indicate that it was the result of an electrical fault in the engine room.
The Governor of the Red Sea, Major General Amr Hanafi, follows up the incident moment by moment and manages the crisis himself through an operations room to quickly deal with all the repercussions.
