The new station will be located in the northeast area of the municipality, on the reserved platform in the new layout of the railway variant, and will replace the current one, located in the urban center.
The passenger building will have a modern and representative architectural image of railway use, integrated into the landscape of the Ebro River. The new station will have a new 20-meter long side platform, equipped with a canopy to protect passengers. The project will also include the new perimeter enclosure of the station area and the platforms, as well as its immediate surroundings.
It will also have a new car park with a capacity for approximately seventy spaces, including adapted parking spaces, electric vehicle charging points, and space reserved for new mobility systems.
Rincón de Soto variant
The project will also develop the development of the area approaching the station, which will integrate access from the municipality of Rincón de Soto. In addition, this space will have an area for stopping vehicles, both public (emergency services, taxis, incident buses) and private. Adif has commissioned the drafting of the basic and construction projects for an amount of 707,731 euros and a drafting period of sixteen months.
The station project will be developed in coordination with the projects carried out by Adif for the construction of the Rincón de Soto bypass, whose works have been tendered for more than 74 million euros, and with the project for the provision of control facilities. , command and signaling to the new infrastructure. In addition, Adif has just tendered, for an amount of 3.11 million euros, the assistance contract for the control of the bypass works.
