Watan Al-Youm: During its participation in the recently held Fifth Generation Communications Summit, Orange Jordan highlighted its commitment to innovation and its importance in terms of economy and development. Ask questions and participate in discussions about the potential of this technology.

During the “5G for a Better Future” session, Orange Jordan CEO Philip Mansour stressed the importance of 5G in drawing a different future, which is by all standards better and easier than before, especially since this technology enjoys high speeds that allow users to complete their work and carry out their tasks on the go. Mansour added during the session, in which a number of decision and opinion makers participated, that Orange Jordan’s strategy for the fifth generation focuses in its axis on promoting innovation in the Kingdom, by enabling and providing the uses made available by this advanced technology, which causes a massive transformation in business, in addition to digital solutions that Provided by Orange.
Mansour stressed the importance of this technology in bringing about a quantum leap in terms of sustainable development and economic growth, in addition to its capabilities in various fields and different sectors such as education and telehealth, in addition to being the main pillar of smart cities and environmental monitoring.
As part of Orange’s participation in the summit, the Director of the Fifth Generation Department at Orange Jordan, Firas Al-Bassat, gave a presentation entitled “The Business Case Study of Fifth Generation Technology”, which revealed the areas of benefit and uses of the fifth generation. Al-Bissat stressed that this technology will bring about major transformations in several areas such as smart cities, entertainment, healthcare, industry 4.0, education and transportation, thanks to its high speed, low response time, massive connectivity, and the new capabilities it offers to improve communication and data exchange.
During his speech, Al-Bissat stressed that the fifth generation technology constitutes a good business case for governments, as it can stimulate economic growth, create job opportunities and raise the quality of life, pointing out that investing in infrastructure and promoting innovation under this technology will enable governments to create a more competitive and sustainable economy.
Al-Bassat also announced the opening of registration for the first “5G Hackathon” in Jordan at the “Innovation Forum” from Orange, which welcomes participants to develop innovative solutions and products offered by the fifth generation technology, including university students, professors, entrepreneurs, and graduates of Orange’s digital and entrepreneurial programs as part of its social responsibility. Pointing out that “the innovation that distinguishes the fifth generation lies in the uses that we will create thanks to this technology.”
In a session titled “Challenges and Opportunities in the 5G Field,” Ayman Sarhan, Director of the Network Engineering Department at Orange Jordan, spoke about the most important technical, organizational and economic challenges related to the deployment of 5G networks, including spectrum allocation, infrastructure investments and cybersecurity concerns.
Sarhan explained that the fifth generation will be a major enabler for the digital transformation of businesses, especially for small and medium-sized companies, as well as improving corporate operations and enhancing customer experiences and thus driving growth for businesses in many sectors, thanks to the capabilities of this large and important technology.
