Honda will only be able to count on Marc Márquez and Takaaki Nakagami in the seventh round of the championship, the German Grand Prix, an appointment that will start this coming Friday June 16 at the twisty Sachsenring Circuit. The firm of the golden wing has half of its pilots in the infirmary as a result of the falls suffered by Joan Mir and Alex Rins in Mugello, two incidents that will prevent them from traveling to Germany due to injury.

Joan Mir was the first to fall in Italy during free practice on Friday; the Balearic pilot had to get off the Mugello appointment early after taking a strong blow to his right hand in which, at first, he was diagnosed with a possible fissure in his little finger. Apart from the pain in his finger, Mir was unable to continue participating in the Italian Grand Prix due to inflammation in his right hand.

This past Monday, after returning to Andorra, #36 underwent an MRI at the Center d’Imatge Diagnòstica of Dr. Cuesta; the resonance revealed a major bruise on the right hand with synovial fluid and inflammation, which limits the strength and mobility of said hand.

Taking into account the results of the MRI, the Repsol Honda Team and Joan Mir’s doctors they have decided to leave him out of the German Grand Prix.

The Spanish pilot will travel this week to Palma to visit his trusted traumatologist, Dr. Juan Garcías, to assess the best treatment and recovery plan for the injury to his right hand, with the aim of returning as soon as possible, without mentioning anything about an estimated return time. The Repsol Honda team will compete in the German Grand Prix only with Marc Márquez, since Joan will not be replaced.

In the other Honda box, that of the LCR Team, bad news also for Alex Rins; the catalan broke the tibia and fibula of his right leg as a result of a fall during the Mugello Sprint Race, and after undergoing surgery in Florence that same day to place an external fixator, the Barcelonan remained hospitalized for another 48 hours before returning to Spain on Monday afternoon.

Back in our country, it is expected that the Catalan pilot undergo a second surgical intervention later this week in Madrid to internally fix your bones and begin to recover. Lucio Cecchinello’s team has confirmed that the #42 will miss the German and Dutch Grands Prix, confident that he can return to action after the summer break, in August.
