June 13, Ministry of Industry and Trade 3648/BCT-KHCN has been issued to send noodle exporters to the EU on the EU’s new regulations on food safety.

With great efforts of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and enterprises exporting all kinds of noodles, vermicelli, vermicelli, seasoned dry noodle (abbreviated as instant noodles) to the EU in the control of food safety, on 7/24 6, the EU has published in the Official Gazette Regulation (EU) 2023/1110 signed on 6/6 amending Regulation 2019/1973 on emergency measures to control food exported to the EU.

Therefore, the EU has officially brought Vietnam’s instant noodles from Appendix II (control by food safety certificates and control at border gates) to Appendix I with a border inspection frequency of 20%. .

According to Regulation 2023/1110, from June 27, instant noodles exported from Vietnam will not be required to come with a certificate of inspection. food safety issued by the competent authority of Vietnam.

However, the fact that the EU still maintains control at the border gate with a frequency of 20% requires Vietnam to always maintain good control of food safety for instant noodles.

If in the last 6 months of 2023, Vietnam’s instant noodles exported to the EU violate food safety regulations, the next EU roadmap will increase supervision to 50% at the border gate and then bring it back. Annex II and the process of persuading the EU to reintroduce Annex I is much more difficult.

Therefore, the Ministry of Industry and Trade proposes that production units and export noodles ready-to-eat food to the EU continues to maintain good food safety control for fast noodle as in the past.

At the same time, units need to improve their awareness and capacity in controlling input materials, controlling well from input materials to finished products in the instant noodle production process.
