New Delhi: Former India opener Aakash Chopra has predicted the outcome of the first Test of the India-South Africa vs India Test series at Centurion’s Super Sport Park tomorrow. Chopra says India will not be able to win the first Test series in South Africa this time around.

“South Africa have a 51 per cent chance of winning the series and India have a 49 per cent chance of winning the series,” Chopra said. “If anyone wins the series, it will be South Africa,” Chopra said on his YouTube channel.

India are unlikely to win the series. I would have made it clear that South Africa would have won the series 2-1 had it not been for the injury. The series is likely to be a 1-1 draw without Norcia. There is also the possibility of a Test draw in the series. Rain is also likely to be bad during the first Test.

We know that the South African team has not been in good shape lately. But it is not uncommon to see them slowly regaining their old strength. If you look at their performance in the T20 World Cup, it will be convincing. But it will take some time for them to become a stable team as they go through the generations.

But India’s problem is not generational. It is instability. Rahul in the opening, Pujara in the middle, Kohli and Rahane in the middle order and Rishabh in the wicket. But they are not stable. Chopra said India have a chance in the series if they put in a talented performance.
