Time.news – Through one of his lawyers, former US president Donald Trump has pleaded not guilty to all the crimes charged against him. There are 37 charges contested in federal court in Miami, Floridawhere the former US president introduced himself.
Thirty-one are linked to having taken away from the White House documents that were to be delivered to the National Archives, the State Archives; five concern the attempt to obstruct justice and withhold “confidential” documents and two are related to false statements made to the FBI by Trump himself and his aide, Walt Nauta.

Trump stopped at a Cuban restaurant on his way to his resort and greeted his supporters and chatted with them. At one point they sang “happy birthday to you”, as the former president will turn 77 tomorrow.
The indictment
Trump “has violated the national security” of the United States of America. This is the thesis of special prosecutor Jake Smith during a brief speech, which lasted just two and a half minutes, in which he officially confirmed that the former president is indicted for violating national security regulations and for having taken part in an attempt to “obstruct justice”, i.e. searches of the documents by the Department of Justice and the FBI. In that “he violated national security” lies the full weight of the accusations made against the tycoon.
Among the files with sensitive information were documents relating to US nuclear programs; dossiers on potential reprisals by Washington and its allies in the face of military attacks and detailed descriptions of the vulnerabilities of the US and its allies. Hundreds of Donald Trump supporters gathered in the area near the federal court in Miami where the former president handed himself over to the authorities and where the judge read him the thirty-seven counts for which he was indicted. Many wore the red “Make America Great Again” cap and waved US flags or the name “Trump”.
“The people who are in charge of our country don’t like America, they hate Donald Trump.” Lawyer Alina Habba, now a spokesperson for the former US president, said this in a statement outside federal court in Miami. Habba referred to prosecutors in New York, Miami, Washington and Atlanta, Georgia who have launched investigations into Trump.
