After on June 2 Campaign 2023 for direct payments was extended until the end of June, today the Ministry of Agriculture and Food announced a new deadline – July 21.
Until the specified date, farmers can submit applications for support under the Campaign and make edits to already submitted applications. This is foreseen by the proposal to amend Ordinance No. 4 of 2023, published for public discussion.
The purpose of the proposal is to enable farmers to apply and have a greater choice of support interventions. In this way, sufficient time is provided to familiarize yourself with the new conditions and how they are applied. Among the ministry’s reasons for extending the deadline is that direct payments, which are part of the Strategic Plan for the Development of Agriculture and Rural Areas for 2023-2027, are applied for the first year and it is necessary to give producers more time to to get to know them.
The regulations governing the requirements to which they will have to comply are the Ordinance on the Terms and Procedures for Implementing Interventions in the Field of the Environment and Climate and Humane Treatment of Animals and the Ordinance on the Terms and Procedures for Implementing Interventions “Organic Crop Production ” and “Biological beekeeping”, included in the Strategic Plan.
All interested parties can express their opinions on the published draft amendment to the regulation on the website of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food and on the Public Consultation Portal by June 26, 2023.
