Lhe Prime Minister, Dr Bernard Goumou attended this Wednesday, June 7, 2023, the official launch of the work to finalize and equip the modern slaughterhouse in Kagbelen. It was in the presence of the Minister of Agriculture and Livestock, other members of the Government as well as the Minister Secretary General of the Presidency.
It should be noted that in Guinea livestock is a sector which contributes greatly to the gross domestic product. This Kagbelen slaughterhouse with a capacity of 250 cattle per day has seen its work stopped since 2015. In other words, Guinea has been struggling for almost eight years to mobilize resources to finalize this slaughterhouse, whose populations Conakry need it so badly.
The Minister of Agriculture and Livestock indicated that this slaughterhouse will improve access to quality and clean meat. Previously, he invited the company to do everything so that the conclusions and recommendations of the environmental and social impact studies are respected in all their rigor for the well-being of the local populations and for the consumers of Conakry, Boké and other cities that will benefit from this slaughterhouse.
For Prime Minister Dr Bernard Goumou, this project to build and equip the modern slaughterhouse in Kagbelen was launched and then relaunched several times before September 5, 2021. The Government has mobilized to support the Livestock in the modernization of the animal resources sector so that it can contribute to the emergence of our dear Guinea as desired by the President of the Transition, Colonel Mamadi Doumbouya. “The State will do everything possible to ensure that this sector can have resources. I will be very attentive to the realization of the works and the Head of State himself, all that is agricultural project, he follows it in a religious way “, indicated the Prime Minister, Head of Government.
