Leader of União Brasil says there is no date for change in ministry

The leader of União Brasil in the Chamber, Elmar Nascimento (BA), said this Tuesday (13) that the party will not force the Lula government to change the head of the Ministry of Tourism. The federal deputy is in favor of negotiations between the two parties to strengthen the structure of the portfolio to meet the demands of parliamentarians.

Elmar’s position took place after having participated in a meeting of the party’s deputies. The parliamentarians discussed what actions they should take in relation to the future departure of Daniela Carneiro from the ministry. União Brasil wants the appointment of Deputy Celso Sabino (PA).

“The timing is up to President Lula, we are not going to put a knife to anyone’s neck, we are not going to demand anything from anyone. The government knows what the most appropriate moment is, because I understand that they need first, if they want, to resolve the situation with Minister Daniela, it is the most correct. Even because she supported President Lula, she was always correct with the government, you can’t go over her, deal with nomination, nomination and any ministry without first resolving that, “she commented.

Currently, União Brasil has two ministries: Waldez Góes (Integration and Regional Development) and Juscelino Filho (Communications). When she was nominated, Daniela Carneiro was part of the party, but she resigned in April to transfer to the Republicans.

Góes is also not seen as a representative of the legend. It is not by chance that União Brasil has a high rate of infidelity in the Chamber in very important votes for the federal government.

In recent weeks, party leaders have started to pressure Lula for changes in the ministries. Daniela became the main target. In arm wrestling, the club won. The minister will be fired in the coming days.

União Brasil is in no hurry

After the meeting, Elmar said he did not expect Daniela to be fired this Tuesday. “There was never that expectation. We never deal with it. Everything that came out there was covered by the press, I don’t know who the sources were. Within the bench there was never any expectation with a deadline”.

“Who has the legitimacy to choose a minister, appoint a minister, dismiss a minister, is President Lula. When and if he thinks it is necessary, he will call us.
