The planned inflation premium of 3,000 euros (tax-free) for the cabinet members of Chancellor Olaf Scholz (65, SPD) causes a dispute!

Interior Minister Nancy Faeser (52, SPD) said on “Maischberger” (ARD): “An energy flat rate of this amount would certainly not be appropriate”.

And: “I’ll probably donate it.” Despite the lavish salaries (chancellor 21,500 euros/month, minister 16,800 euros) it is planned so far to pay out the money in full (BILD reported).

After all: Environment Minister Steffi Lemke (55, Greens), Agriculture Minister Cem Özdemir (57, Greens) and Family Minister Lisa Paus (54, Greens) now said when asked by BILD that they wanted to donate the premium.

The Chancellery, on the other hand, replied to BILD “for the entire federal government” only: “The collective bargaining agreement in the public sector is transferred to the civil servants and thus also to the members of the federal cabinet.”

“Reminds me of Lambrecht’s instincts”

The head of the Junge Union, Johannes Winkel (31), is stunned. He told BILD: “The fact that the members of the government want to pay themselves a bonus of 3,000 euros per person while they ensure that industry leaves our country with catastrophic economic policies is reminiscent of Christine Lambrecht’s political instincts.”

Rumms!

Lambrecht (57, SPD) resigned as Minister of Defense in mid-January 2023 after an unfortunate performance in office and numerous embarrassing appearances.
